Andrew Henderson at St. John's Elora

Announcing my first solo CD: Andrew Henderson at St. John’s, Elora! Recorded in June 2010, this CD features the Casavant organ at St. John’s Anglican Church in the beautiful village of Elora, Ontario. Despite its small size (2 manuals with 24 ranks of pipes), the instrument is a jewel of richness and color aided by the church’s remarkable acoustics. Through the internationally-renowned recordings of the Elora Festival Singers and the all-professional St. John’s Parish Choir, countless CBC broadcasts, extensive use during the annual Elora Festival, and numerous parish liturgies and concerts, it has probably become one of the most frequently heard pipe organs in Canada. I am immensely grateful for the work of renowned recording engineer Edward Marshall and the expert and elegant graphic design by Lee Ryder. The cover art is a watercolor of the chancel at St. John’s, painted by my cousin, Carol Henderson-Pew. From 1995 to 1996, I was Assistant Organist at St. John’s, Elora, and since that time have been delighted to return as a solo recitalist and accompanist for the Elora Festival and the Parish Choir of St. John’s, Elora. I am pleased to have recorded my first solo CD at St. John’s and to offer the first solo CD to feature this wonderful instrument.
